  • YOUR HEALING JOURNEY – 9 BEST PERSONAL PRACTICESโ€‹

For me It took years of inner work, yoga, meditation, body work, myofascial release, energy healing, quality time spent alone and journaling to get deeper and deeper into my own self.

Dealing with chronic pain demands care, self-love and compassion, and a commitment to the hard work of changing what you can and cultivating mindful self-acceptance of what you canโ€™t. The clients I help the most are committed to truly being present in the moment and kindly embrace life.

  • WHY MYOFASCIAL RELEASE IS SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR BODY

The traditional medical approach is to fix the body or control/remove the symptoms that have developed over the years.

Myofascial release (MFR) is an approach that helps us to remove the restrictions so the natural healing abilities of our system can take place and bring the body to better states of hemostasis (balance) or healing.

  • WHAT IS MYOFASCIAL RELEASE?

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a whole body approach that addresses the root-cause of your symptoms, tightness of soft tissue and fascia, and releases them, thus allowing your body to return to its natural grace, and fluidity of movement. MFR is a gentle and very effective hands-on tissue technique that releases the entire myofascial complex, that web of dense elastic fibers that holds all of us together, reducing pressure in pain sensitive structures.

  • UNDERSTAND YOUR PAIN BY VISUALIZING FASCIA

I was always excited about finding a visual tool, like the video below, that would help explain what is fascia, and how it works and effects our body and its function.

Here are two key points about why we do not better understand more about fascia:

The first ever congress on fascia was held in 2005 and is why many of your doctors may not know about fascia. However, it is growing in recognition.

  • THE POWER OF THE BREATH

With deep and slow diaphragmatic breathing we choose to re-engage with ourselves.

We are learning, and teaching the brain and the body how to be a unit again, and we stimulate the VAGUS nerve which produces neuro-physiological reactions for relaxation and healing.

Diaphragmatic breathing reduces our anxiety, fear, racing thoughts, rapid heart rate, and relaxes the tension in the body, thus decreasing pain and inflammation. Be aware and present while deeply breathing in and out.

  • THE DANCE OF JOY

Last month I wrote about 7 STEPS to Unconditional Self-Love for a Better and Healthier Quality of Life . I received a lot of positive feedback on the topic of self-love and felt it merited additional discussion. My journey into healing, introspection and self-love started when I was in my early twenties, at a time when the whole concept of how our mind and body are connected started to fascinate me, and became my whole new paradigm of thinking, feeling and being.

  • SWITCH ON YOUR BODY’S HEALING ABILITIES

The year 2020 presented to us many reasons to feel, in both our body and mind, high levels of stress, anxiety, depression and uncertainty. Those states have a direct effect on our physiology, producing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline leading to inflammation, pain and chronic disease.

  • MY PERSONAL MYOFASCIAL RELEASE JOURNEY

Many times, people ask me how I started practicing Myofascial Release. As I was recently reminiscing on the 11th anniversary of Wholistic Therapeutics, I was overtaken by appreciation of my own personal and professional journey with Myofascial Release.

At the end of my 20ties, I was working as a Physical Therapist at a local hospital, struggling with a chronic right hip pain that would radiate all the way down to my leg with occasional numbness and tingling. Through my adult life, I was always very active, living a full, athletic and travelling lifestyle, which I greatly enjoyed.

  • MindBody Physiology

โ€œ There cannot be a healing in our bodies unless we have healing in our minds and heartsโ€ โ€“ Dr. Joe Dispenza

In September, I participated in a week long Meditation Retreat by Dr. Joe Dispenza, which was held in a beautiful area around Niagara Falls. There were 1600 participants, with this particular event sold out within an hour of opening its registration process.

  • MIND-BODY PARADIGM SHIFT

” This is a very, very exciting time for us to live as we are entering an expanded paradigm of mind-body medicine”

Most of you on this email list know me, possibly read a few of my BLOGs, and have benefited from my understanding of the mind-body connection during therapy. Those of you who have embraced mindfulness have commonly reduced your pain and rejected suffering.
